The bed was comfortable the staff helpful and the service of the room good except for soap. Close to train and not far for shops etc

if you have soap dipensers in the room I feel there should have been some there

"felt slightly uncomfortable as a single woman staying alone. bit seedy." (97010263)

convenient location for the station though was not aware that access from the station was via several flights of stairs. had to go long way round on return as couldn't have carried case up.

receptionist monosyllabic. room shabby verging on grubby. very small. lift tiny and unreliable.

"I didn't stay for long in the hotel, thankfully as the room was like a rabbit hutch. The television was so small I had to pull up a seat near it. Certainly could not watch TV from the bed. Views were not pleasant but good location." (108003756)

Location for Birmingham New Street Station and city centre

Very small TV (14") Small room with horrible views of barbed wire and dingy back of hotel

  • 3/10 Steph (Solo business traveller)

    location

expensive breakfast. too hot and road niose meant it was impossible to have the window open. the windows were extremly dirty and the whole hotel looked rather seedy - next door there was an adult club!

"Not someplace we would ever reccommend to others. Not a place Comfort Inn should be proud to hang their banner on." (97524025)

    Price. Close to downtown.

noisy location- garbage collection from train station woke us up up at 3am. Staff was uninterested in answering our question about using the telephone and seemed lethargic when asked to check with someone who could answer our question. Rooms were worn and carpets very dirty-needs updating. Comfort Inn banners outside are FILTHY- need to be replaced.

"I loved how central the hotel was. I didn't have far to go the hotel where my course was or to the train station or to the restaurants." (97416765)

The receptionist was so friendly and very helpful.

I thought that the room was an ensuite room but it was infact a separate bedroom and bathroom. When I checked in, I thought that the room was already paid for as I did give my debit card details when I initially booked. The receptionist clarified for me that the money is only taken from the card when checking in and not when booking. Thankfully, I did have my debit card with me as payment was required when I checked in.

"The hotel is comfortable and generally clean. A dirty toilet was attended to immediately but a dirty toliet is not acceptable and staff should ensure that room is fully clean before informing reception that room is ready to let. The room faced a noisy street and windows had double glazing which helped deaden the noise but curtains were not hung properly which meant they could not be drawn across fully to exclude street lighting overnight. Again service staff should ensure that everything is in working order before leaving the room" (97319770)

    Room and bedding clean

Bathroom window did not shut, curtains did not shut, toilet dirty on arrival but rapidly cleaned

The room was dirty, the bath had someone elses hairs in it! and the bed was lumpy. There was a bright orange street light outside my window and the curtains didn't shut properly thus my room was lit up like a Christmas tree.

"this is a good no frills hotel next to the main station in Birmingham which direct links with the NEC and Birmingham International. The only draw back is late at night going down some rather dingy smelly steps to Station Street from the station. One lamp was loose on the wall and carpets stained. The ceilings are tiles some stained from age and water leaks from rooms above. I think it could be noisy weekends if you get a front room. breakfast is an extra £8 extra so have not tried it. This hotel is good if you can book well in advance and get a cheap rate." (99538496)
