location is good
Awful hotel! No welcome-money had to be up front. No towels in one room

"Perfect as a stopover hotel for a family who don't want to spend the earth." (108047302)
One of the few budget hotels in Calais (in all of France actually) that can sleep more than 3. We booked the quad room, which actually had 5 beds, although the smallest was only suitable for a child less than 10yrs. It was clean, spacious, quiet and the staff were friendly. With their limited english and my limited french we got on fine. The restaurant downstairs is fine if you you can't be bothered to walk into town. Their kids menu was spot on. I'm not a hotel snob and can forgive slightly worn carpets and paintwork - as long as the place is clean and I get a good night's sleep - which I did will certainly be booking again.
Breakfast was a rip off. First of all you had to book it the night before, then it was ?7.50 each (even the toddler!) for a glass of juice, a croissant and a chunk of bread (no cheese or jam). Not even hot tea or coffee. Waste of money. Go to the cafe 100m down the road and get a decent breakfast for less. No english channels on the TV.
