Breakfast was served at the table and that mean portions were measured, but still overall the selection was good just no hot food
The room was comfortable, albeit the neighborhood was a bit rowdy on one night

I really liked to stay in the patio, however it was sometimes a bit cold. The breakfast was very good and diversified: I loved the eggs and omelettes that the lady was preparing us every morning. The bathrooms were nice and the bathtub was quite nice too. The staff was nice too

I am assuming that most people travelling to Versailles are going for the Palaces and gardens. The grandeur and scale of the palaces is immense, the sense of history, excess and wealth really hits you. Having said that, you will be doing a lot of queing and you will be shuffling from room to room with 1000's of other people poking their cameras and phones into your space.

We loved Versailles plenty of cafe's, bars and restaurants to chose from at
affordable prices, if you just fancy a light lunch wonderful deli offering
excellent selection. Small Carrefour and other grocery stores easily accessible. We found it very easy to get around Versailles we had a 2 day pass for the Chateau and gardens and it was amazing. After reading reviews before we planned our trip we pre - booked our tickets for the earliest time possible as it can get very busy, it worked just fine we visited on Wednesday and again on Thursday.

I have been twice before over the years, It's a very expensive suburb of Paris now and an interesting town which revolves around the Chateau. The Chateau is a place you must visit once in your life at least, and allow a full day or more as the grounds are huge. It's a commercial tourist trap, long queues and not enough people selling tickets though all staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have bought online but couldn't fathom the headset guide, you could add it then it disappeared at checkout. Turns out you can't and don't need to pre-order, they are available after ticket check at a desk in the entrance, no queue. You can buy tickets from Tourist Information (they have an allocation) to beat the queues. Don't take a very expensive tour, the audio gives the same information and there are plenty of signs to stop you getting lost. Fantastic place but more or less just a portrait gallery and heaven for lovers of architecture. Just stand there and wonder at the scale, opulence and grandeur of the place. Not much catering, just essentials but the catering staff will refill a water bottle for you free if you ask nicely (a bit of French is handy). Be prepared to get your elbows out as although access is limited there are a lot of people inside, be prepared to wait for pictures and be tolerant of the bored and ignorant being dragged around! Book one of the local hotels, we used the Ibis, a 5 minute walk and used a restaurant on Rue de Satory which has a good selection and just outside the gates.

Fantastic trip.
Fantastic trip. It had been on my bucket list for a long time and did not disappoint. Mercure hôtel exceptionally welcoming. Excellent breakfast.
Would definitely recommend.
The palace is of course the main reason to go to Versailles but I don’t advise visiting the inside on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters and at time uncomfortably so.
But hey ho! I loved it all. Enjoy your trip…

Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors.
Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors. No taxi service, The train tour of the palace is a rip off. They make you stand in the hot sun while the entire crew of drivers take a long break for lunch. If you get off there is a long wait time before you can get a spot on another train. Large tour groups block passage to many exhibits. Signage throughout the gardens and some displays is very poor and non existent in many places. A real disappointment. The hotel staff and restaurants were all good and made our time spent with them very enjoyable.

Versailles is a quaint village with a lot of charm and character. There is a lot to see as far as history and is just beautiful! I felt very comfortable and safe. Versailles is easy to navigate and get around.
Likeable staff, perfect organisation and communication. Breakfast was excellent including home-made jogurths, marmalade/jam and/or cakes and was served by a waiter/waitress.
The position of the hotel is very good - very close to the Versailles palace/Versailles congress centre (ca 5 minutes walk) and to the rail statitions (ca 5 minutes walk to Versailles Chateu and 10 minutes walk to Versailles Chantiers), city buses stop directly in front of the hotel.
From the moment we pulled up outside Hotel..it was the start of Impeccable luxury.
Your in Versailles, taking my Grandaughter to see Palace 1st time.
We felt like Royalty.
Nothing not one request is too much bother..the Staff bend over backwards to cater to everything you need.

This was my third stay at Hotel Le Versailles. It is the closest hotel to the Chateau and I will book again next year.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is very good, beds exceed expectations, I always sleep very well and the mattress and sheets are great, the hotel is quiet and very convenient.
The hotel is very clean.
Nice shower.
Working for the US government I make it a point to stay at your facility in Versailles, despite having to travel quite a distance to get to our Headquarters/Office at Capital 8, 32 Rue de Monceau, 75008 Paris. This time I came with my family.
Enjoyed everything, room, comfy bed, b'fast as well as the bar and proximity to various Restaurants, stores etc.
Location close to Château De Versailles (if that is your destination). A welcoming English speaking receptionist at the day of arriving. The breakfast - basic yet good. It was cute that the hotel emailed me details how to go by, with a parking info - however just a day after my check out -:(.
The host was gracious and friendly, giving me a tour of the premise that was clear and concise. Early check-in was flexibly given subject to the actual situation, which was a big plus. The premise had so much space and many facilities for you to feel home away from home at Versailles.
An excellent location situated approximately 20mins walk (a very pleasant walk too) from the Palace of Versailles. Within 10mins of the hotel, there are a wide range of restaurants to choose from and a great market nearby. The staff were lovely and the rooms are clean.
the host was exceptional. he helped with luggage. he shared his wealth of knowledge of Versailles yet not overwhelmingly. the room was clean and comfortable. the location was within walking distance for touringthe palace of Versailles.
- We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
- The beds were very comfortable, equipped with soft memory foam mattresses.
- The hotel's proximity to the Palace of Versailles is excellent, making it a perfect location.
The hotel is situated at a great location, 5 mins walk to Versailles Palace. It was neat and tidy and hotel staff was friendly and helpful. There are a lot of eateries nearby. It's worth spending a night here.
Perfect location for the Palace of Versailles and the beautiful streets which surround it. Helpful and friendly team at the hotel and lovely design throughout the hotel. Definitely plan a return visit.
Great location near Versailles. Staff excellent. Good pool. Enjoyed the breakfast outside on the patio. Great cab service (called Arbeilles taxi) from hotel to Paris. Driver and car very nice.
The room was comfortable and clean. They had a very nice breakfast. The hotel had it's own small car park which was nice for 9 euros per night. You could walk to Versailles in about 30 minutes.
Perfect location to the palace of Versailles, room was a bit cramped between bed and desk.food choices were great for the breakfasts The front desk lady was very helpful.
