I've only ever travelled through Holyhead en route from Ireland to the UK and back, but I walked around the town a bit with my dog on this trip, and the area around the B&B was nice enough. Beyond that I really can't say as yet, but I'll definitely return.

Not much in the Pier area, very residential.
Not much in the Pier area, very residential. Expect to walk a lot, crossed bridge to City Center for the amenities we were looking for, food & historic sites. 2 days were enough to stay before heading to Dublin on the Ferry.

booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship.
booked in holyhead purely to meet friends off a cruise ship. holyhead itself has little to nothing to offer tourists but as a base to visit other parts of Anglesey its fine. holyhead seems like its been abandoned by the council and needs money spending on it, all the locals we met were lovely and they deserve more.

No busses or taxies. ( found one by chance when they were collecting a customer late afternoon)No information regarding about restaurants close for meals between 2pm - 4pm. Had to walk to hotel. As not informed about kitchens close at 2pm, our first meal was at 4.30 which we had to walk to . Amazing fish and chips at the local chippy. No interesting sights . Would have been better to have passed through directly to Cardiff.
We stayed at The Hut Wales in a sweet little room with view to the port. It is small, but cozy and provides everything you need. It is located quite close to the ferry port and the train station, so perfect if you have a connecting trip from Holyhead. You should not miss out the great breakfast in the café just below. Jason served us a lovely breakfast in this cute cafe with its friendly atmosphere. There are lots of books you can browse through while having your first, second and third coffee. ;)
Everything was great. The location is magnificent. View of the ocean from the pod.
I had troubles with my service and couldn't go to booking to double check the instructions or call the host Sue. But she was so patient and understandable and made sure we know how to find the pods. Thank you!
Awesome stay. I only wish we were staying for more than one night. But hopefully soon!
Perfect spot to explore Anglesey from!
Thai is a gem of a place to stay . close to Holyhead which we needed. rooms are spotless, beds are comfy. owners are amazing . we had to leave early for a ferry and couldn’t partake of breakfast so we had a packed lunch. the lunch was incredible ! would 100% recommend and would use again . lovely quiet spot to stay
I phoned the hotel as no taxi available at Holyhead station. Helpful staff gave me the phone number. I had missed dinner but again staff member organised a takeaway to be delivered. Clean room, comfortable bed, great shower. Lovely breakfast to start the day before sailing off to Ireland. Would stay again
Kay was the perfect host💕 she was very kind and lovely, the room was perfect after a long journey of travelling. Its about 10min walk from the ferry so I really reccommend it. If a have to be back to Holyhead I Will not hasitate to stay again un Craig Avad
Great location close to the ferry port. We didn't avail of breakfast as we were travelling on the ferry early. The room was adequate with tea making facilities in the room and the en-suite was clean. Helpful information provided about local eating places.
The owner was extremely accommodating and gave us a ride from the ferry (and very late at night) and took us to the train station in the morning. She was great. The room was also nicer than most bed and breakfasts we had been staying at.
very friendly and nice owners. the rooms have everything you need. a delicious breakfast is available at an additional cost. cozy dining room. the hotel is close to the ferry station and close to the main street of the town.
Excellent location for arriving by ferry late at night and needing a bed so we could rent a car at the port in the morning. Someone met us at the door after midnight to let us in which I appreciated.
Good choice of breakfast and good amount. David and Debbie always willing to chat and recommend places to visit. Good location to explore Anglesey and close to main road for trips further afield.
