Our four night stay was the highlight of our two week visit to Scotland.

Busta House er til húsa í fallegri gamalli byggingu með en-suite-svefnherbergi, stórum garði og frábærum staðbundnum mat. Þaðan er útsýni yfir ströndina Busta Voe á meginlandi Shetland. Really comfortable, lovely surroundings and great food.

It is perfectly situated. This grand beautiful historic building is being renovated by the present owners. I had a room with a sea view which was magnificent. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the towel warmer and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were amazing. Sam, the owner’s son, went above the call of duty to provide towels and vacuum the sand I tracked into the room. Harvey, the owner, was fantastic! He even gave me a ride to the bus station. If you are interested in historic preservation this is the hotel for you. It sits actually into the sea next to Bain’s Beach. I had a fabulous week at the Queens Hotel.

The Grand Hotel er staðsett í Lerwick, í byggingu frá 19. öld, 300 metra frá Bain's Beach og býður upp á herbergi með ókeypis WiFi. Hótelið býður upp á fjölskylduherbergi. I loved my stay here. My room (324) was just the right size, en suite and located in a quiet wing. The furnishings and whole vibe of the place is Boho/shabby chic. I mean this in a good way. The ambience is laidback, friendly, uncomplicated. One could be extremely picky about some flaws and details in the decor or upkeep of the place, but it was clean, comfortable and not only nice staff but nice clientele as well. I would have stayed there on my return trip, but had private arrangements instead. However, I would definitely go back. The girls serving in the bar, the kind man who made generous breakfasts, and particularly Harvey the owner, were all lovely people. The hotel‘s in a great central location, there are cheaper places to stay, but none with the same vibes or funkiness.

Modern & well equipped hotel 10 minutes walk from the town centre, nestling on the shore of Breiwick Bay. This attractive hotel is well equipped for the modern traveller and close to local amenities. Beautiful hotel with scenic surroundings.

Islesburgh House Hostel er staðsett í Lerwick, 600 metra frá Bain-ströndinni, og býður upp á gistingu með garði, ókeypis einkabílastæði, sameiginlegri setustofu og veitingastað. This is a council run hostel. Its very clean, and the staff are very nice. Everything is pretty informal, and yet it is run very well. Sleeping was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. I booked late, so I had to take the family room, so that was pretty expensive for just me, but it was worth it in the end! I don't regret it at all.
